Day 1 to has taken us from Lands End to Tintagel. After a foggy start the weather has been kind to us today. We were expecting hills but still got a shock to the extent of them. Total vertical climb for the day amounted to 7300ft. When you consider Ben Nevis is 4400 ft. it may put it into perspective. Additional useless facts, 84 miles, time in the saddle just over 7 hours giving an average speed of 11.9 miles per hour using just under 7000 calories. GPS has proved to be useful - not sure about Pats - seemed a bit strange when he was continually asking us to turn around. On closer inspection (yes this is true and he is Irish) his sat nav device was fitted on his bike upside down. Blaming his mechanic he would accept no responsibility for the mistake. Colin Hammond has asked us to feed his fish in Boscastle. We’ve saved some steak and kidney pie and chips and hope they find it to their taste - no worries Colin we’ll take care of them for you and check your house out at the same time
Leave my fish alone! It takes my dad ages to sort out that pond!
Well done, I wouldnt like to bike through boscastle to bude! Have fun tomorrow.
Well done all on your first day. Sat Nav story was hilarious! We wondered if you needed crampons and were roped together for the vertical climb! Keep pedalling !
WELL DONE.
GO ON UNCLE ANDREW. x
